In September, the Czech government approved a decree under which starting from January 1, 2015, the minimum wage will increase. As of the new year, the basic gross salary will be at least CZK 9,200 monthly instead of the current CZK 8,500. The hourly rate will also increase from the current CZK 50.60 per hour to a new rate of CZK 55. The individual levels of “guaranteed” salary will rise similarly; these tiers are set based on the complexity, responsibilities and strenuousness of work performed.

Since these increased rates will apply as a matter of law,  it is not essential to amend the labour law documents of concerned employees or any internal regulations. However, to prevent errors and administrative mistakes when calculating  salaries, such updates are certainly advisable.
